GNA Meeting: August 18th “The Boys: Book 1″

For our next meeting we will be reading “The Boys: Book 1″.  This takes place in a modern world full of “Supes” or Superheros.  The Superheros live by their own rules and treat the world as though it was their own personal playground.  The United States has put together an organization to remind the “Supes” that they cannot do as they please; join Butcher and his team in “The Boys: Book1″ to learn more.

GNA’s most current discussion: The Fountain

Tonight we discussed “The Fountain” and the group was split down the middle 50/50.  Half the people really enjoyed it and the other half didn’t care much for it.  People felt that it lacked literal meaning and had a hard time following it.  Others enjoyed its ambiguity and embraced the idea of creating ones own meaning.  Overall the art was amazing and most people could agree on that.

Graphic Novel Addict makes the front page of the Arlington Advocate in their February 12th edition.  The Arlington Advocate spent some time with GNA early in February and then wrote a wonderful piece about the group.  Check out the paper to learn more about GNA’s origins and find out more about the members and what the club is all about!
